TALLAHASSEE – Family history, or genealogy, is the second most popular hobby in the U.S. (after gardening) and the second most visited category of websites (after adult content), according to ABC News. Local family history consultant to attend international RootsTech event TALLAHASSEE – Courtney Newton, a Tallahassee resident and family history consultant for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be in Salt Lake City, Utah Feb. 26-29 for RootsTech 2020, one of the largest family history conferences in the world, drawing attendees from all 50 states and 40 different countries. Twice a month classes are free to the public Quincy – The Quincy Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 816 S. The senior volunteers for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, based in Atmore, Alabama, spend their time traveling the region giving presentations about family history. They started their volunteer work in November 2015 and are currently working on their second 18-month volunteer stint. They will return to Idaho in May.
