Voting in the U.S. encouraged by church leadership

The leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encouraged all members of the Church to vote in the upcoming Nov. 3 election in a letter sent to Church members. “Citizens of the United States have the privilege and duty of electing office holders and influencing public policy. Alabama first responder finds himself on the receiving end of assistance

Church members from Tallahassee area join Helping Hands effort DAPHNE, AL -- James Johnston, a police officer in Gulf Shores, Alabama, is usually on the giving end of assistance to the public. Missionary service takes a historical turn

Volunteering at the Grady County History Museum CAIRO – Sisters Jessica Allen and Brooklyn Gentry, missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, probably know more about the history of Grady County than the average life-long resident. Local missionaries rerouted due to pandemic

Missionaries were reassigned from across the globe Some of the missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the northwest Florida and south Georgia area had a major detour before arriving in the South. The Church has 67,000 missionaries serving worldwide. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, many of those missionaries were sent home and reassigned to stateside missions. Tallahassee missionary couple adapts to gospel service under pandemic conditions SAN FRANCISCO – Tallahassee residents Curtis and Carol Austin left their home last year to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, arriving in the Bay Area to support members and leaders of the church. Tallahassee LDS members respond to shortage of face masks

TALLAHASSEE – Faced with a pandemic-induced shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Tallahassee area responded with a coordinated effort to produce hand-made masks.
